Between April and May 2018, I conducted a survey of community based social supports for mums in Logan. This information has been used to support policy and funding submissions for Logan families. Over the next couple of months, I will be sharing some of the survey feedback.
Today, I wanted to share participants recommendations for Facebook groups and pages that they have found helpful in their parenting journey. Now, I acknowledge that these groups and pages may not suit everyone. I also acknowledge that there may be emerging groups not captured in this list, this is not a reflection of my personal preference, it was the data from the time, and, I think is a pretty comprehensive list!
Of course, I will proudly share that the second most popular social media space was Logan Mums 30+ this is the first group created by Parents in Progress, and has been active and successful for over 2 years. It is a unique space for mums over 30 who have children under 18. We do regular family, and kid free meet ups, and are a supportive and friendly bunch.
Update (7th January 2018) I have now consolidated two of our small groups to better match with the Parents in Progress vision. Mums and dads with children from birth to 18, please join us in our new group Logan Parents in Progress.
Why join us? We have started these groups for our community, our neighbours, our friends… because we live here too… we are passionate about helping parents to connect, learn from each other, and support each other as we raise the next generation.
